June 2008 - EU Sets New European Goals on Residues

The European Parliament establishes a 70% goal on reutilization and recycling of construction and demolition residues for 2020.

On June 16, the EU established a new set of guidelines for residue management. The European Parliament set an ambitious 70% rate of reutilization and recycling of construction and demolition residues by the year 2020.

According to the European Commissary for the Environment, Stavros Dimas, the New Framework Guidelines on Residues, “is a quantum leap in terms of redefining residues as valuable assets, rather than a burden, as it contributes to promote the economics of recycling across Europe”.

Capotex has a long background in that area. In fact, its latest product, a lowering device called Caposhark®, is made with high-density polyethylene which is 100% recyclable. So, when the long-lasting system wears out, it can be either sent back to Capotex for recycling or be placed in the yellow recycling container.
