Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel conveyor belt cover

The galvanized steel is obtained by coating a cold-rolled steel band by immersing in a molten zinc bath.

This steel sheet is corrugated and bent to form the cover.

Zinc corrodes 20 to 40 times slower than steel, protecting it from the environment.

Galvanized steel fixings are able to withstand knocks well because of the steel’s own hardness.

They are rigid due to the corrugation and bending, rigidity that significantly increases with the folding of each edge that is an exclusive CAPOTEX system, which in addition to increasing hardness with minimum stoppage, avoids the risk of cuts and other injuries during handling since sharp edges are eliminated.

Thickness 0.6mm and 0.8mm.

ZM 300-310

ZM 300-310 conveyor belt cover

ZM 300-310 is an exceptional metallic coating that provides a breakthrough in corrosion protection. This coating is also the best choice for a wide range of applications.

Due to its unique composition, the ZM 300-310 coating provides an unprecedented level of surface and cutting edge protection, even in the most hostile environments. It is produced on a classic hot dip galvanising line but the molten bath has a unique chemical composition including zinc, 3.5% aluminium and 3% magnesium.

Provides excellent corrosion resistance even in harsh environments. This material resists corrosion longer than standard galvanised products and outperforms coatings containing less magnesium.

ZM 300-310 is the only metallic coating product certified for use in C4, C5 and C5M environments.

Pre-lacquered Steel

Pre-lacquered steel conveyor belt cover

It is obtained by covering a galvanized steel sheet with various qualities of oven-dried paint.

The layer of paint protects the zinc coating which, in turn, protects the steel, producing a product with high corrosion resistance.

The existing wide range of colors permits the possibility of harmonizing the cover with its surroundings and the other installations.

Impact resistance and rigidity are the same as those of galvanized steel.

Thickness 0.6mm and 0.8mm.

HPS 200 High Performance Steel

HPS 200 conveyor belt cover

Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra uses Galvalloy metallic coating, made with a special mix of 95% Zinc
(Zn) and 5% Aluminium (Al) and provides corrosion protection, even at cut edges.

The unique topcoat formulation (nominal 200 microns) utilizes leading polymer technology,
which provides abrasion, chemical and UV resistance.

Stainless Steel 304

Galvanized steel conveyor belt cover

The Stainless Steel 304 is highly resistant to corrosion. Particularly recommended for very corrosive environments (marine), chemical and food industries.

Excellent toughness: High impact resistance.

Hygienic: therefore recommended (in some countries required by law) for food conveyors. It is also suitable for covering chemicals where contamination must be avoided.

Thickness 0.6mm.

Stainless Steel 316

Galvanized steel conveyor belt cover

The Stainless Steel 316 is highly resistant to corrosion.

Fiber reinforced polyester

Fiber reincorced polyester conveyor belt cover

Fibreglass reinforced polyester is particularly resistant to corrosion, its light weight and the possibility of choosing the colour of the finish make it unique for certain applications.

It is a plastic material obtained by impregnating glass fibre with polyester resin and spraying this mixture onto moulds with the required shapes and completing the process with a gel coat to protect against sunlight.

Fibreglass is particularly recommended for aggressive environments, such as salty atmospheres, transport of corrosive materials, etc.

It can be painted in any colour and even different colours can be combined on the same cover, making it possible to incorporate logos or trademarks.

It has good impact resistance and rigidity, but without reaching those of metals.

Thickness > 2mm

Aluminium

Aluminium conveyor belt cover

The aluminium cover material is distinguished among metal fasteners by its resistance to corrosion in certain environments and its reduced weight.

It is an alloy of aluminium with other metals that provides specific characteristics for each type of use.

Compared with galvanised steel, the aluminium cover material is:

  • Less resistant to impact.
  • Lighter. About three times lighter than steel, which makes it easier to handle.
  • More resistant to environmental corrosion due to its ability to form an oxide layer that protects the underlying aluminium.
  • Fully recyclable.

The rigidity of the cover is significantly increased by the folding of the two edges, an exclusive CAPOTEX system that gives this material a particular importance.

Thickness 0.8mm.
